About the Author
S.R. Luviek’s writing is driven by her desire to empower women and teens, no matter what their current circumstances.
She was abused throughout her childhood and felt powerless to stop it. Instead, she was taught to cover for the abuser. As a result, she entered adulthood with very little self-worth.
Although she did not enjoy being mistreated, she made a series of relationship commitments that felt familiar. These relationships further contributed to her feelings of powerlessness.
She wanted to break the negative cycle in her life. Her first solution was to join the Army as an Air Traffic Controller (ATC). It was during her basic training that she discovered she was tougher than she thought. She found she had grit and determination that set her apart. She discovered she had the courage to conquer fears and obstacles.
It was in the specialized ATC training that she discovered she was smart and could handle herself under extreme stress. The seven months of Army training she received gave her self-esteem she’d never experienced before.
During her military service, she sought and discovered a true relationship with God. She tapped into the divine strength Christianity promises.
Unfortunately, all that she acquired through her military experience and spiritual growth did not equip her with the tools or knowledge to truly break the cycle of unhealthy relationships.
Finally, she knew it was time to make a drastic change. She relocated and began a Bachelor’s degree program in Psychology. She entrenched herself in educational materials for breaking the cycle of abuse and recovery.
Through a long process, she rediscovered courage and self-worth. She learned how to stand up for herself. She also learned one of the hardest truths every Christian woman needs to know.
It is not God’s design for a woman to stay in a dangerous relationship.
S.R. Luviek’s passion for writing led her to obtain a Master’s degree in Creative Writing for Entertainment. She decided not to waste her painful experiences. Instead, she uses them as inspiration to reach others.
She started the Daunted No More project in 2017 with the desire to educate young women and men on domestic abuse prevention and freedom.
